They work differently, which is why you will not see a litre capacity quoted for a lint trap.
A grease trap holds a volume of water and relies on retention time so that grease can separate out by gravity. Its capacity in litres is central to how it is sized.
A lint trap works by screening. Wastewater enters the tank, flow velocity reduces, and lint fibres are captured on a mesh basket or screen set in the flow. Water passes under and around the screen and straight out to sewer. Capacity alone does not determine the appropriate lint trap. Selection should account for the expected peak discharge flow, lint-screen or filter capacity, and the applicable water authority’s sizing and approval requirements.
